Beth is a Scottish soprano who made her solo debut in the Royal Albert Hall as part of the BBC Proms. She portrayed the Second Fairy in Mendelssohn’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Prom 36, 2024).

Beth is a recent vocal graduate of the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire with a First Class Honours degree (BMus) studying under Christopher Turner. During her time at RBC, she competed in the Stuart Cameron Smith American Song Prize in 2024, winning first prize. Other prizes for Beth include joint first prize in the Birmingham Festival Choral Society Oratorio Prize. In April of 2025, Beth released her first album titled Beneath the Northern Sky alongside her colleague Sarah Potjewijd. The album features Scottish contemporary music.

Beth’s opera credits at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire include Belinda in Dido and Aeneas; Emmie, Albert Herring; First Maid, Daphne (Opera Scenes); Mélisande, Pelléas et Mélisande (Opera Scenes); Lucy, Die Dreigroschenoper (Opera Scenes); 6th Spirit, Cendrillon; Tweedle Dum, Alice in Wonderland (Opera Scenes); Young Frog, The Cunning Little Vixen. Concert engagements include Serenade to Music (Vaughan Williams); St. John Passion (Bach); Missa Sancti Nicolai (Haydn); The Messiah (Handel); Gloria (Vivaldi); Requiem (Fauré).

She began singing at the age of 8 with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra Junior Chorus where she fostered her love of singing. She has sung in prestigious venues such as the Usher Hall, Royal Albert Hall and Saint-Eustache de Paris. Beth has sung with various esteemed choirs such as Ex Cathedra (Student Scholar 2022/23, Enhanced Student Scholar 2024/25), CBSO Chorus and NYCOS. Beth is currently studying at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama for her Master of Performance degree under Sarah Pring.

In the coming months, Beth is looking forward to singing with Hutchesons’ Choral Society, where she will be singing as the soprano soloist in Mozart’s Mass in C Minor and Vespers. In April, she will be returning to the Gwent Bach Choir to sing as the soloist in Mendelssohn’s Elijah.
